  • Well done with the half pound sweetiepea, and just think what'll happen when you do hit the pool and walking next week!

The warm beach sounds lovely elsie, the snow is starting to melt here at last, another couple of warmer days and I should be able to see the ground!

    • No actual weight loss, but my walk distance yesterday was 11.75 miles and I survived!
Calves are rock hard, and bottom/inner thighs feeling firmer. Am tolerating the exercise better too, less leg aches and feeling fine after.

Weirdly, despite the distance/pace, instead of being starving after a walk, all get is heartburn can't figure that one out at all.

      • I can understand that one, Kirstyb - I find that when I'm actually working hard on the lottie (my only form of exercise) I can't have a big breakfast and I definitely want less to eat after!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

Don't knock that half a pound, sweetiepea. As they say in your part of the world, you have to be grateful for small murphys!

How soon after eating do you start walking, kirsty? Any exercise could give you heartburn if you have not digested your last meal.

I don't want to scare you, but are you sure it IS acid reflux and not heart symptoms? They can easily be confused. If you're not sure it would be wise to get a check up.

Kirsty - I had the same thought. It could easily be heartburn, but I used to work in cardiac rehab and quite often heartburn and angina symptoms were confunsed by both people and GPs.

Good going on the walking though

On the longer walks, I stop for a break every 1.5 hours or so for a drink and a snack because I do feel hungry while walking. Probably them giving me heartburn cos I don't get it often normally.

                          • Bought new scales (instead of going to Boots at 50p a weigh). I've lost a kilo since I started, but am still 5 kilos above my fighting weight.

Nice to see you back and hope you're refreshed and raring to go. Well done on the kilo loss; you'll soon make it two, and then more.

                                elsie -
It's probably your scales; they just aren't as accurate as thet used to be for some reason. Where I stand on mine makes a difference of 2lb! Of course, I always stand where it's going to make me lighter!
