It's probably your scales; they just aren't as accurate as thet used to be for some reason. Where I stand on mine makes a difference of 2lb! Of course, I always stand where it's going to make me lighter!

I like that reason I do put them in the same place each time as I remember my dad doing the moving the scales around the house thing - he doesn't need to lose any weight, he weighs almost the same as when he was in his 20s (he's 75 now).

    • I've lost 0.8lbs this week (I LOVE my digital scales!) which I'm rather pleased with...

I'm hoping to have lost a stone by the time I do my 10K run in May (since I started this at Christmas)... I'll not be skinny by any means, but if I can just stop my tummy flobbing around when I run, I'll be pleased!!

I've been running 3 or 4 times a week now, plus an hour of Stretch & Tone aerobics, and hopefully I'll put some badminton and swimming in from next week as well.

Haven't been an angel with the food, but I think the exercise has made up for it!

          • Mr TS has lost a kilo this week (he's stuck to his tuna & salad diet for a month now, I can't believe it).

Me, I'm stuck the same. My back has 'slipped' again, so I can't run or do my dance DVD. I'm eating cereal / black coffee / salad etc, no bingeing. I have had a glass of wine most evenings though. S'not fair.

            • Well done everyone. I lost a pound which isn't as much as I had hoped (and will have gone right back on after all the beer etc... scoffed during the rugby yesterday!), but it's still going in the right direction I suppose.

              • So I lost the pound I might have put on or I've stayed the smae for the last couple of weeks, which is a bit annoying because I am actually sticking to my points and doing some exercise. Oh well, at least it's not going up.

                • This is where it gets grim! Like many of you I'm stuck at a far greater weight than I want. So it's back to the very restricted induction programme for a couple of weeks - ah me!

                  • seemingly if people started a diet in the new year, thursday is the day they'll give up, so we'll just have to fight through that day.

bought new scales today, haven't got them out of the packet yet as they also have body fat on them. On the plus front might not have lost much on the scales, but I had to hunt for a belt this morning as I was very worried about my jeans slipping too far and making me look like a teenage boy showing off his trendy boxers - argh, I must be getting old, I want to haul their trousers up when I see that

                        • just started my weight loss program. I was eating 4 -6 biscuits a day.. cut them down to 2.

Aiming for 3kgs by April 1st. Should do it easily with warm weather, my running and gardening...

Keep the gin & tonic going though - and not slimline tonic which I hate...

                          • I am letting the side down, been in A&E with my toddler all day so having large bowl of chocolate icecream. And I might have another.

                            • I hope he gets better soon Janeyo - what a worry.
Just got back from weigh- in 2 1/2 off over the last fortnight - but then most of that time I've been on liquids only due to tonsillitis!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

not a nice way to loose weight, but here's to it staying off

Like the sound of your diet - biscuits and booze! Except I don't really crave biccies and I don't like G&T. 3kgs by 1st April is quite a lot.

My new scales are great - I've lost 1.5 lbs in 2 days The percentage of body fat is pretty scary , but I wanted to make sure I was losing fat and not muscle mass, but by the looks of the scales I must have very little muscle (it also tells you water pecentage, and when you add that and a fat together not much left for muscle). OH moaning that the scales are bad, as he's put weight on - more like the fact he tends to weigh himself after he's been for a jog or playing football, and he's dehydrated then.
