  • you go for it Janeyo - you'll have lost weight with the worry anyway! Hope the wee one gets better soon.

I bought the most motivational weight loss tool - EVER, yesterday - Skin Fold Calipers!!! I used to use them on other folk when I was a fitness instructor and know the "face" they cause. It's also a pretty painful procedure to take the measurements, so am hoping this and the results will keep inspiring me. My OH is not looking forward to measuring time at the weekend!

I hate those things! I remember a few years ago when I was super fit and thin (oh those days!) the guy at the gym really hurt me when he was trying to get skin off my ribs to squeeze.

      • I know that one Elsie, but my strategy is that I will only measure once a month, and only have to do it until myself and OH have reached our target weights - then no more pain from the pinching!

        • Finally, I have lost a kilo I'm now 60.4 kg

I can't run any more because I pulled a muscle or slipped a disc in my back. Dance DVD is out too.
I've been having a small bowl of oaty cereal twice a day, with one normal meal. I've swapped wine & beer for vodka (fewer calories)

I've also changed the way I ride my bike: instead of riding on the dropped handlebars nice and easy, I sit upright and push with my thighs in a low gear (so it makes your legs go round faster). It doesn't seem much, but it's firming up my thighs & botty

Wey hey, I've broken through the 12 Sstone barrier.

                        The metaphorical one that is!

That's a whopping 81bs since I bought the dreaded digital scales about 6 weeks ago.

Now need to stay off the lasagne pies.

                        • Oh, well done, plot10. That's such a good feeling.

As many of you will know I have been stuck for about 6 weeks now, so yesterday I decided to take the next step on Atkins and do the Fat Fast. this involves eating 5 times a day, 200 cal each time, but what you eat is 75-90% fat. It's only for 4 - 5 days so I shan't do myself any permanent injury - or any injury at all, I hope! Watch this space!

                              • Good luck Anna, it's tough being stuck on a plateau. I've been on a similar one since we started the thread.
We saw our friends last night, and she's lost 2 stone in a month (lots of swimming & waterobics)
