Yeah dont leave them in the prop or they get very leggy. I would suggest moving them off the windowsill at night. Gets really cold behind those curtains!
Once germinated, they just need to be kept frost free and bright unless it's something like chiilies ( what has germinated??)
The problem with germinating indoors in this eather is the cold chilly draught dropping down from the window pane. Normally I'd say take them off the windowsill at night to prevent this- but we have that chill too during the day at the moment.... away from the window/light and they'll tend to grow leggy and be weak adult plants.
If you're meaning to keep them in an unheated proper gator by the window, just make sure they don't get humid and rot.
It'll be interesting to see how you get on broadway

Hiya Nicos, can you explain what you mean re "unless it's something like chillies"? I'd have thought that your advice was very appropriate for chillies, they can't stand cold and need plenty of light to stop them going leggy.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Think Nicos was saying that if they're chillis, they'll need warmth too not just frost free and bright
Ah that would make more sense than the way I read it

Hi Nicos,
Chilli's and Tom's, will move the Tom's later, what do you suggest re the Chill's?
I was going to sow some chillies this week as I usually sow some at this time of year but am putting it off until after this cold snap, however long that might be!
