Nope the school I work in is still closed. Head just sent an email out having spoken to Surrey County Council. Apparently they only have 1-3 days of salt/grit left. Unless we, the staff, can make access for them, then and only then will they salt/grit the access roads to the school, which they can't do anyway because they are running out of salt!!! At the same time the Department for Children, Schools and Families are saying that the LA should be able to provide support by salting/gritting access roads etc. Surrey are a waste of space!

I have had a few days off but need to work on sat night, I will try to dig the car out tomorrow (we have a nasty slope from our house - but once i get to the main road it is better) hopefully I wont get stuck at work on Sunday if the forecast is correct. ps I think you are right about Surrey, only the A322 gets any grit around here, any side roads and you are on your own.Kernow rag nevra

Been grounded all week and working from home - tried to escape yesterday - dug myself out, travelled 1/2 mile and thought beggar this for a game of soldiers - can answer emails from home, why skid 16 miles to do the same thing!
Mind, starting to get cabin fever now, and checked out bus services for Monday - 20 mins journey by car will take one and a half hours on a bus - BUT - it will mean human contact and civilisation, so might just go for it - that's if it's not too cold, heaters on buses bit dodgy from what I remember 20 years ago when I last got on a bus!'May your cattle never wander and your crops never fail'
