My father died when I was 16 - he was very young, and a very keen gardener and GYO'er. Every time I plant a seed, or look at something I've grown, I think how my father's still sort of around, inspiring me. If I can be half the parent that either my mother or father were when we were growing up, then I'll be doing well.

It's nice to think that our loved ones live on through the good things that we do, that we learned from them.

Ollie, thats such a sad story.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

we have a family tradition of planting a tree when we lose a family member, personally I feel nothing at a grave but I can talk to the trees knowing they are a living memorial to them, luckily the trees are around our fields back where i grew up so I don't look to mad in the middle of a field explaining my feelings to a tree

If a plum tomato breaks the law when its young
Would its criminal past ketchup with it later?
