  • Songs that make you happy/want to dance

Back before Christmas there was a thread on songs that make you cry - well, I wondered which songs do the opposite for you, and make you feel happy and bubbly, or you just have to dance around to?

It can be a bit of an 'Eeyore-ish' time of year, so I thought some uplifting music might be a good idea, plus I had an ipod for my birthday, and speakers for xmas, so I am shamelessly looking for some good song to upload!

Here's one of my favourites, to start the ball rolling - Walking on Sunshine, Katrina and the Waves.
Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.

Songs that get me dancing inside (I'm a dude, so don't dance outwardly - except for Bean of course).

Birdhouse In Your Soul - They Might Be Giants
The Safety Dance - Men Without Hats (great 80's video)
End of the World - REM
There's No Other Way - Blur
        Today - The Smashing Pumpkins
Paradise City - Guns 'n' Roses
A Day Like This - Elbow
Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin
        Unfinished Sympathy - Massive Attack

Countless others, but I shan't bore you with any more.

YouTube - The Exciters , Blowing Up My Mind

You Tube - Runnin Away - Sly and the family stone

You can add Devils Haircut to mine (infact the whole of Odelay) and Fool's Gold 9:54 of course.

For my sins I will admit to being prone to exhibitionism on the dance floor. Don't know one tune from another and never listen to music. However when in party mood I am known to rock around the clock. The next day I am full of remorse and think OMG what am I like? The music just blows me away.

So anything that has rhythm does it for me.

I'm not really a music person (no favourite group as such) but I love anything from the movie Happy Feet

Just what is it that possesses us to gyrate and posture with abandon?
