week before christmas a cat got hit outside my house, and i had to cover it up as the schoolkids were walking by, someone had hit it and left it to die, it had only just died as it was still warm. I knocked on a few doors in my road as I didnt know who owned it. to cut a long story short it was a lady round the corner, whos 3 little kids had the cat. I was absoltely distraught... a week before christmas a swell.
tonight coming home from work on a main road a staffy was in the road, dragging its back legs and flipping all over the place screaming absolutley screaming... so i threw my hazards on and stopped, then suddenly the boy whos dog it was appeared absolutley distraught shouting '2 cars have just hit my dog'. so i got hold of the dog by the side of the road, told the boy to calm down and come over and let the dog hear his voice for a second, i then told him to go get his mum as they lived on the road, I shouted for someone who was walking by to help me but the just walked by and said NO!
Im not overly confident with big dogs, but I had it on the floor with my jumper and scarf wrapped rpund it, me virtuaally laying over it to keep it warm and stop moving, an ambulance stopped and gave me a heat blanket, it took the boy maybe 3-4 minutes to come bacvk anyhow by the time the boy and his mum arrived the dog had died in my arms.
I stayed for a while but the police still adnt arrived. I went to the flat to see the boy and his mum and god knows why but I kept on apologising even thought I just stopped to help.
My moan, is we are humans, they are defensless animals, how could anyone hit an animal and then drive off.
That poor boy is going to have that memory for ever, seeing his dog being runover twice!.
I came home had a bath and a cry.
and i got a puncture saturday and another one the way home tonight
