  • Flaming Cheek!

Some kindly soul has dumped a big microwave on my drive, right next to where they pick the bins up and recycle from.
The bins have been collected and the microwave is still there.

What a flaming cheek to dump something like this and let someone else have to sort it out. Hmmpf.

There is no pavement - If I nudge it out it's on the road and it's only single track.

I actually have a skip at theother end of the drive (on the wasteland soon to be my new veggies lol) at the mo but a) if I put electricals in it will cost more as it's for builder's rubbish, b) why should I put someone elses rubbish in my skip and c) the darn thing is overflowing and I don't think it would fit in anyway!

Put a sign on it £5 to good home.
It will be nicked in no time.

Could you phone the council and report it,dont know but if you tell them what happened they might come and collect it.

I actually heard this on the Radio, an old boy phoned up a prog and told them his fridge has packed up, so he bought a new one and arranged for the council to take away his old one.

2 weeks later his old one was still still sitting outside his house with the council failing to collect, so he put a notice on it, £20 to good home.

It was stolen within 30 Min's.

You should be able to call environmental at the council and report it. They normally send someone out to collect fly tipping.

Unfortunately if it has been placed on your land the council could well charge for taking it away. If you are seen 'nudging' it into the road you are then guilty of fly-tipping. Infuriating I know.

Whilst walking the dogs I like to do my little bit toward keeping the village tidy and often pick up litter that I then put in my bin. One day coming upon a discarded TV I went and collected it in the car then telephoned council to ask them to collect it. Because it was now on my property there would be a charge for collection. If I had left it where it was they would have collected it (obviously for free). Ended up keeping it until my next visit to the dump.

Now larger objects get left where they are until the council collect them. Fortunately fly-tipping isn't a big problem in the village. Most litter seems to be take away wrappers flung from car windows.
It is the doom of man, that they forget.
