It's the number of posts we have made. Shown in the top R corner. I think your questions proves my point.

From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.

Do you think so? I find that's what makes the place so appealing. There's always plenty of information, but also some nice off the wall (well and ordinary) humour.

Just want to say 'hear hear' to Piglets original post. I hung around a bit before posting anything on this forum but the general atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming it gave me the confidence to do so and keep coming back.

As for multiple answers, I agree completely with Mrs D on that one. I have taken a lot of the advice I have been given on here, either by way of general chat or by asking a direct questions and getting more than one reply does help, because if it has worked for more than one person, chances are it will work for me too!

When I found this forum it was the best thing ever. I live and garden in an area where there are no other vegetable growers so this has been an invaluable help both for advice and ideas.
Where else would you get complete strangers paying postage and sending you seed.
There are still some really decent people out there.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Some of the best ideas come out of posts that are perhaps a little askew from the theme but relevant nether the less.
I learnt at school that the lesons that I learnt most from were the ones that the teacher made fun so that is how I treat things here with what bit on knowledge I've got.

I couldn't really day much about the forum as i've made 3000+ posts! I do go on a few other Fori but now where near as mucha s here. It's sort of like a 7 day a week gardening club thats local to us all.

I totally agree Nick, to take away the fun would make the forum a barren place to be and cost it its soul.

So glad to read those posts, No 1 Technie son raised an eyebrow or two when he saw how much posting I'd been doing over the past month!! Made me wonder if I was overdoing it a bit, but I'm having so much fun.
Had to pursuade Bubblewrap to sign on as he was feeling rather neglected by my new obsession. Now we are talking about getting him a laptop so we can both be on at the same time ... Help!!!

Mrs Dobby.... I love the comparison to a lottie! I tend to spend more time talking to myh neighbours than getting on with what I went there for, but then that's what I enjoy about my lottie, and love about this place and the friends I've made here. I just wish I lived closer to them, or travelled with work to pop in and see some of you

But that's what normal conversation is like And what makes the Vine so good On some other forums some whipmaster would be on screaming "you're breaking thr thread" ! And dear knows what the thread was about !
