Can I ask those who have had this op or know peeps who have had it done - about how long did they wear a bandage after the op?

And can everyone help me to get Madmax to use his blooming crutches without yelling at me about it please

Oh I can sympathise with Madmax, the crutches drove me insane when I broke my foot. They are so exhausting, it takes five minutes to organise yourself to get out of the chair, you have to drag them up the stairs with you, they really hurt your arms, and you have to plan for 'comfort breaks' I had lots of paddywhacks about mine

Once the wound has healed you will not need a bandage, but some support is still useful.

I was given a stick, not crutches. Sounds as though MM had a bit more cartilege removed than me. It's important to rest the knee as much at possible at first - and that means keeping your whole weight off it when walking. Only your crutches will do this, MM - and it's not Shirl's fault.

Mr D.s Mother came round after an op to find she was in agony with her knee - prob cos they lifted her onto operating table awkwardly! - wouldnt mind but she's not overweight even

I remember one of my schoolfriends having a similar knee op when we were about 15, long before the days of keyhole surgery, she had a massive scar all around her knee & was off school for weeks!
Hope Madmax is getting around a bit better now Shirl.

Keep your chin up Max! Soz can't help with the crutches though. Could you use them as a cat scratching post?

They are metal ones Bernie - cat ain't interested

Thanks for the moral support everyone, Madmax is a lot better today - the knee is bending and flexing better and he is cheerier as he can get about more easily.
