  • Evenings getting brighter.

Its ten past five here this Saturday evening and its still not dark.Just been watching the sunset with a pink sky. Its hard to believe how fast the evenings are beginning to lengthen.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Ooh Bramble - I'm jealous - it has been dark and moody all day here and it was dark by 20 to 5. Let's hope the weather lifts tomorrow.
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

It's been dark and gloomy all week in Yorkshire - I was thinking it should be getting lighter now but no sign of it yet.
Maybe we need to dance round a big bonfire to bring the sun back

Anyone got a spare ring of standing stones and a few druids handy to help Lovage and me?

Gosh, wish I could say the same here. It's still getting dark around 4pm and earlier if the weather is bad. Roll on spring!

Bit of both here. It's definitely getting lighter in the evenings. But it hasn't been proper daylight here all day today. Foul - wet and blustery. Stay indoors weather for me!

I think it's definitely staying (a bit) lighter for longer. I went to shut my chooks away at 4.40 today as usual and they were all still wandering and pecking around It's great, and it'll be even more noticeable by next week, and the week after. Come on, think positive

I shut the curtains at 3pm today: dark, wet and gloomy outside

Dank and miserable round here - but at least the snow is finally gone!

Been raining here most of the day but I'm with Maureen as the chook is wanting to stay out later and later(bit like a rebellious teenager I suspect)

The days are slowly lengthening. I noticed it the other day. I'm really looking forward to my girls still being up when I get in from work.

Sorry if I upset everyone about the weather.
We will probably get the awful gloomy weather you all got today.
If its any consolation, we had the most awful storm on Friday night with gale force winds and driving rain, so not out of the woods yet by a long shot.

Don't feel you need to apologise Bramble - there you were, being all optimistic and cheerful and you were met by a load of grumpy grapes moaning about the weather! Jealousy, pure and simple!
