  • Pride and Prejudice - Who's Your Darcy?

Following a discussion with someone yesterday I thought I'd pose you all the following conundrum:

Ladies: Who is your favourite Darcy? Which screen adaptation Darcy makes you go weak at the knees? And do you have a favourite scene?

Gents: Which Darcy do you like to think you model yourself on?

This is by no means a full list of the actors to portray Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy on the silver screen or TV, but are probably the best known and best loved.

    Have fun!

PS Give me a second to work out the Poll thing!!

No-one 'displayed' themselves quite as proudly as Colin Firth.

I believe he dresses to the left

So quick off the mark boys!!

My own favourite Darcy is Colin Firth. Favourite scene is when he tries to comfort Lizzy after shes read her letters from Jane. His voice is all cracked and husky - pfwaaarrr!!!

Bit like mine at the moment - this long standing cough of mine has transformed me into some kind of James Earl Jones lovechild.

            I'd like Ed Norton please.

I like that he can go from humble shy quiet geek to ferocious scarey dark and back again in seconds. I think we need a Darcy with those qualities.

I was forced to do Jane Austen for A Level. Therefore I can't stand any of them.

Colin Firth for me! Okay, so I haven't seen any of the others, but I don't need too, I know it would still be CF. Sigh. (By the way PB, should you be getting yourself hot and bothered when you're supposed to be recuperating, t may not be good for you - but then again it might )

Useless bit of vintage gossip for the day coming up.... one of the claims to fame of a relation of mine (going back into the past), one actor called Henry Ainley (Great Uncle Henry as he's known in't family), is that he had an affair with Lawrence Olivier, oolalaa ..... Not many people know that, as they say.

For me? CF although having seen him with blue eyes and medium brown hair sort of disturbs me a bit. No idea why though

                            I think I prefer this piccie ....
