What she said That said, do you have an idea of where you want to buy the house? I have family in western France as well as Paris so could probably get recommendations for estate agents in Vendee, Angers area, Nantes or Paris. Let me know if you need any help.
Putting your money in property in France will save you money - you'll have somewhere cheap to go on your hols & then you could rent it out too? (Baggsy mates-rates!?)
Whereabouts in La Belle France are you looking?
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower
M&FiL have a house just outside Lorgues in Provence. There's a couple of good English speaking estate agents in the town, and when we were last there, some very nice places for sale! No idea if you're interested in that area, but if it can be any use, let me know.
It will only be a modest holiday home, as close to the coast as we can afford. With the funds we have we will be looking for a project it will be a do it upper but that may help us as the French seem to hate old properties.
Oh, how exciting! No practical advice but lots of good wishes from me
I was feeling part of the scenery
I walked right out of the machinery
My heart going boom boom boom
"Hey" he said "Grab your things
I've come to take you home."
Best of luck with your adventure Pigletwillie.
If I lived in the UK I would think of doing the same thing but its just too far to keep ferrying to and from from Ireland to France.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
