Oh no Wayne, that's awful. Are you still on that committee thing you were talking about?
I am, though due to our numbers we now do not have enough staff to warrant having the committee in the first place.
The construction industry is on it's bloodied knees at the moment - there's an old adage that the industry is often the first in, and last out of a recession. It's proving to be very apt.
Horrible for you all to have to go through it yet again, we'll keep everything crossed for you HW.
OH goes through this regularly as his organisation 'restructure' every 6 months or so - they must spend a ridiculous amount on it, but there are always fewer jobs afterwards, he goes all quiet and tetchy
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!

Certainly is, and until the banks start lending properly again [which seems to be the last thing they are doing] housing and all underlying industries are just stagnant.
It takes ages for it to get back up and running; as so many people leave and go and do something else.
Oh jeez...I'm sorry. When do you find out for sure if you're safe or not?
I think I am safe as my "department" (me) isn't mentioned. Added to the fact that I kind of don't really work for the UK anymore (my new "role" started Jan 1st) I'm not entirely sure of the ramifications.
Way up the top of the chain (group level) there have also been some "movements" which is also very unsettling, but we just do what we gotta do don't we.

Not only that, but our products are specified sometimes 3-4 years in advance of the project even starting on site. So if we're feeling it now, the contractors and fit-out suppliers won't feel it for 2-3 years maybe. It's nasty!
But then, anyone working in the industry doesn't need me telling them that.
