Two teams of intrepid explorers are at diametrically opposite points on the equator. At exactly 6PM for one team (and therefore 6AM for the other) they both start heading for the North Pole at exactly the same speed. What time is it when they get there?

Apparently at the South Pole they use the same time zone as New Zealand, basically because most people who go there do so via NZ.
The arctic is an ocean and there is no permanent marker for the North Pole as it is covered in drifting sea ice.
It just strikes me as weird that when the 2 teams meet their watches would still be set 12 hours apart.

It would just be whatever time it is at the North Pole wouldn't it, they'd just have to reset their watches the same as you would when you get off the plane abroad wouldn't they?
