Had a friend who used to plug the iron in at the side of the bed and iron the sheets and quilt cover when the bed had been made.
Seriously???
I only iron sheets/duvet covers if anyone other than us is going to see them -- and that is not very often.
Did used to iron for a lady in next village when I was a teen cos sheets etc all had to be ironed and it was bladdy hard work cos everything was super creased and iron was not that great! Have a steam generator one now and it makes ironing a breeze!!
I have never, ever, ever ironed a bed sheet or quilt cover of any sort....
Me neither, why would you? Actually I only iron about once a year, just smooth things down and shape up when wet at other time and avoid buying stuff that would look like a rag.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Likewise. The purpose of the iron is for that iron-on mending stuff when the new trousers are too long!
I think between us we have half-a-dozen garments that might be worth ironing, and most of those are only worn on 'special occasions'.

I iron as needed - mainly work stuff. Mr OWG wears white shirts to work, which he irons himself.
Since we tend to line-dry, or airer-dry; stuff doesn't get that crumpled (and the chickens and dogs don't care if I wear rumpled clothes anyway!)
I never ironed until I met Mr TS. He wears cotton shirts to work, and has many, many tee/rugby/polo shirts that he refuses to wear if creased even a little bit.
Thing that made me cross was, he'd cram so many on a rail that they all had to be ironed again.
I've just today had fitted wardrobes put in by a mate. I'm just about to go up and fill them. And they'll be sorted by colour: wanna see photos? lol

If OH needs things ironing then he can do his own seeing as he's a fully grown adult and we both work Funily enough he doesn't iron much either.

Funnily enough, I was just about to ask the same thing!
My late OH was the ironer in our house - he used to wreck irons though - roughly one every 12 months. My new one has lasted 2 years 4 months now!
