We are a self-managed allotment association holding an out of date tenancy with the local authority ( their fault not ours) . They give us little support and currently are attempting to get one of our members to remove a few chickens he has started keeping.
Ignoring the tenancy agreement ( for the moment) can anyone tell me from similar experience what the law says about keeping chickens.

We're allowed to keep no more than 6 on our allotments. The runs and coops have to be no higher than 6feet and completely fox-proof too.

What does the tenency agreement state?

Our tenancy agreement states we CAN keep chickens but not ducks or cockerels. No mention of how many either, but the site up the road stipulates no more than quarter of the plot can be used for hens.
