That's why I can't watch it, Suzie - once the floodgates open, with me, they are hard to shut again!
Whooops - now what are the dogs getting up to?

It's obligatory. To cry. It's a great film. Sob.

Me too, while I love love love that film, I can't watch anything sad right now. Once I start, I don't stop.

Just me that thinks it's a load of sentimental old pap then? Shared a house with a girl years ago that used to watch it a couple of times a week for the entire year we lived together, if I never see it again it will be too soon............

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Sorry Alison, but I think it will affect a lot of people especially ones like Jeaniad and I who have lost their partners. So you may think it's carp, but it hits a nerve.

Just because it touches a very real and sad sentiment doesn't make it a good film though.

Can't comment on Dirty Dancing, never seen it or ever felt the urge to watch either. Just not my kind of thing.

Can we have a PATRICK SWAYZE and a COLIN FIRTH social group PLEEEEEEEEEEEESE?

YouTube - Dirty Dancing - Time of my Life (Final Dance) - High Quality

YouTube - Pride and Prejudice: The Lake Scene (Colin Firth Strips Off)
A good beginning is half the work.

It was made back in 1990, it was a good film - to me! Films, like books, art etc are all subjective

Whoopi Goldberg made it for me, she was superb

Oh no probs at all with you liking it, lots of people do, was just responding to a comment that seemed to indicate that I should like it because of it's subject matter being very relvant to some people. Probably didn't word well but at least one person (me!) knew what I meant.........

If I had to watch it as often as you did Alison I'd probably not like it any more
