HW, how kind of you to point out my silly mistake, what with me working in a school and all lol! Good job we have teachers like you!

          Best wishes for tomorrow.

My 40th was the best birthday I'd had since being a child. My mum did a lovely 'birthday tea' for the Sunday beforehand, and my colleagues in school made a fuss on the day (banner, balloons, cake). I even got to sit on the special stool in birthday assembly

Not sure that life begins, but it certainly has become more interesting for me as my children get older and I have more flexibility to choose my leisure time!

          Enjoy your day
          Julie

At least you're not 21 with 29 years experience like me!

Oops nearly forgot. Many happy returns for tomorrow.xx

It's my 40th in August and I really can't wait as I'm looking forward to it so much - am planning some serious celebrations. I quite like getting older (well I will up to any point when I have failing health), would hate to be back in my 20s again, had far less confidence or understanding of who I was and knew so little in comparison to how much I know now.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

When I turned 50 I was told that it's the new 3O so by that reckoning you are only 20! Have a lovely time whatever age you are - Happy birthday from The Scareys.

Happy Birthday, Mrs C! In twenty years time you'll look back on the coming decade as the best of your life: kids almost grown, plenty of energy, still fit and, best of all, knowing who you are and what you want with the confidence to go and get it. Enjoy!
