Sat on my settee - a virtually cloudless sky with 20 x 50 binos the features you can see are great.
It certainly is - I found out because Dexter, being Dexter, started howling when he saw it a couple of minutes ago. I can see the features clearly, without my binos.

Don't we have to plant beans or climbers or something or stir your tea to the left and walk bacwards when its like this ?

We're a bit obstructed by a large tree here at the moment! Very bright and clear though.
Evidently if you look to the left - about an extended fist's length away - there is also a good opportunity to locate and view Mars. Between the two is the beehive galaxy or nebula - but not sure if this will be viewed with binoculars alone.
It was huge, yellow and very low just before 5pm when I was driving to the Stables this evening. Now it's higher, bright white, and staring through the window at me! Full moon tomorrow.

Noticed it just rising when I was walking home from the station tonight. Amazing sight.
There was also some clouds which were a bluish colour. Ok I know clouds are usually shades of blue/grey but this looked different.

Looks like I'll be woken at about two am by it shining through the Velux in our bedroom. Lovely though.
Funny you should mention that. It woke me last night, through the curtains. It was as if there was a light on in the sky. I'd forgotten till I just read your post.

I was up with the ponies when you put this post up and was thinking then how fabulous it looked. It's a bit smaller now it's high up in t'sky, but good idea about the binos. Must get mine out tomorrow, too, as the birdies seem to be out and about this last week or so. Yay!
Just been viewing it from the back window. From where I can see it, there is one very bright star to the left of it and one to the right but down a little lower.
Is there anyone else on here who is looking at the moon from the same direction?

We are watching from a similar direction bramble.
The 'star' to the left is Mars I think. The sky just cleared here and I got such a good view of the moon through the 'bins' that it was just like all the telly and book pictures I have ever seen!!! WOW - to think in my lifetime we have flown there and walked on it!!
