Noticed it too (how could you not) on the way home from Milton Keynes this evening - about 5:30 ish, bright and high with a few whispy clouds. Looked a little spooky.

      Here you go:

You can see what you are looking at in the sky with this site.
Notice that East/West is the wrong way round, but when you are looking up at the sky it is correct.

It is Mars so my youngest son has just told me..

No snow here, but cold-enough that the Brass Monkeys will need to keep themselves well wrapped-up me thinks!

Fell asleep in a moonlit bedroom last night. Heaven!

Had a couple of snow showers in Liverpool yesterday and there appears to have been a sprinkling during the night. Not enough to last though.

If it's a nice clear night tonight I think I'm going to try and take a few photos of it, if I can get through all the street light pollution that is.

Bitterly cold here now, and very clear. Moony is staring at me again through the window!

Which is, I suppose, better than Stary mooning at you.
Why didn't Noah just swat those 2 greenflies?

The clouds have cleared and it is just as bright and clear tonight.

Mars was bright last night (29th) because it was directly opposite the sun in relation to us, so the sun light shines on it from behind our viewpoint. It's the fourth brightest object in the night sky at the moment (after the moon, venus and sirius). It has a definite red tinge to it.

There are two vehicles operating on Mars for the last 6 years when they were initially designed to only operate for 3 months, and they are still going.

I've just driven back from the top of Dartmoor and had to stop and look long at the moon, it was beautiful over the moors.
