Overwhelmed!
WOW!!!! Dogsbody, Jardiniere, PJH75 and Jackyspratty - that is SOOOO generous of you - I'm blown away by the kindness of people on this forum - it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling!
I'm too embarrassed to show you my original wish list in full but have whittled it down again to the following.
I wouldn't dream of expecting you to cover the postage as well as being generous enough to offer me free seeds - the least I can do is to send you an SAE.
Here is my list (if you think any of them will be problematic to grow or not worth the effort, please let me know!)
Beetroot: White
Broccoli: Early purple sprouting / Green calabrese
Brokali: Apollo
Cabbage: Rouge tete Noir / Placenza Savoy / Asturian tree Cabbage
Carrots: Jaune Obtuse de Doubs
Cauliflower: Ottobrino Autumn romanesco / Tardif Angers
Dwarf French Beans: Supremo
Land Cress
Watercress
Florence Fennel: Colossal
Kale: Sutherland
Leeks: Jaune de Poitou
Lettuce: Little gem
Pak Choi: Santoh
Oriental stir fry mix
Parsnips: Tender and True
Peas: Golden Sweet Yellow Mangetout / Asparagus pea
Pumpkin: Wee B Little
Perpetual spinach
Squash: Hunter
Swiss Chard: Leaf Beet / Golden chard
Sweetcorn: Double standard bi-colour
Basil: Genovese sweet / Finissimo
Parsley: Flat leaf
Coriander
Dill
Oregano
Mint
I will be SO grateful to anyone who is kind enough to offer me ANY seeds - and look forward to returning the favour by offering any extras from seeds I DO buy.

You know you may have to face the fact that no one wants that many lettuce!
Can also offer parsley, flat leaf and some aqua watercress.
IF you PM me your details Ill pop some in post for youLast edited by jackyspratty; 01-02-2010, 11:13 AM.

For the year in 2009, I spent almost £400 - this comprised seeds (even though I had some saved seed), compost (lots), some netting, two bokashi bins and plenty of bokashi bran.
My calculations of what I picked come to about £110.
So I spend just about the equivalent of a year's gym membership.
This year I have much more homemade compost than last year, have my bokashi bins and so would expect to spend much less.
However, I've friends who have other interests and most people don't object at all to spending £10-£20 a week on various pursuits. So my gardening doesn't seem such an expensive interest, with fresh air and exercise being thrown in plus the best and tastiest veggies. My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)

I'm a self confessed seed addict (as are many of us here), I think I would just reduce your list for this year until you are in full swing, because with the best will in the world i can't imagine you will be able to sew everything.
I started off at my local garden centre, I pulled one type of everything I wanted to grow off the rack, and then sat on the floor surrounded by the packets, working out when they would all crop so that I didn't end up with any huge gluts or gaps. I probably spent £20 for 10 packets on that first visit, but since then I've discovered the likes of Wilcos and B&Q. I do use Kings Seeds, Seeds of Italy and Real Seeds for 'special' things, but not for everyday stuff.Last edited by Pumpkin Becki; 01-02-2010, 12:00 PM.

If you're not fussed with whether it's perpetual spinach or chard, I have a load you can have as well as early sprouting purple broccoli if you want. PM me if you doNever test the depth of the water with both feet

I have some Sweetcorn: Double standard bi-colour if you're still wanting any. The seeds are a few years old buy I got 100% germination last year so should still be fine. PM me if you want them. May also have some leek seeds but not sure if I have any spare. Have a few other things too but not the exact varieties you list but may be able to provide alternatives if that's any good.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
