I just picked up a pack of 50 french beans (yellow beans) for 49p from lidl. One of my fellow plot holders grew the same last year and had a massive harvest from them.

Not tried the yellow ones before

seed packets were either 29p or 49p

I have some 'Marshall's' Hunter squash. They didn't do well for me last year but you're welcome to some if you want to give them a try.
I also have basil, dill, and mint
plus some oriental mixed lettuce seeds and perpetual spinach.
Pm your address if you want any of them and I'll send them over.

Seed alone cost me £53 last year! Thought this year was going to be much less expensive, but 3 bags of compost, stargazer lilies, pelleted chicken poo and a couple of F1 hispi packets and £35 was gone just like that! Add to that the price of 2 bokashi buckets and bran and the £91 just forked out for greenhouse glass and I'm going to have to produce a heck of a lot of high-priced vegetables this year to break even! Luckily darling Mr C treats it as my hobby! His hobby is a 32ft yacht, making my virtually new greenhouse a really cheap option!

I've probably spent that this year- but I'm almost starting from scratch having been a very good gal and used up old seed for the past couple of years.
I'll give some seeds to my neighbours - cos they are different varieties than can be bought over here.
Mine includes spuds and shallots and onions too and we'll be near enough self sufficient most of the year as far as veg are concerned ( stuffing the 2 freezers with produce) .
I don't think that's bad to be honest! Plus a few flowers for the table...it soon adds up buying fruit, veg and flowers from the supermarket!
It's the compost/fleece/netting which I curl my toes up at buying!

I think we should wait until C-K thanks the good people who have sent seeds already; which is why I bumped this

I send mine the same day as the seed parcels which have all been received; and I've heard nothing back....

I wasn't very organised so only got round to sending mine the day before yesterday so obviously haven't heard anything yet.

Sad state of affairs this - I've only just seen the thread, but feel for you good folks who have yet to be thanked for your generosity.

Just wondered though why, when you click on see C-K's profile (yes, I'm nosey!), it takes you to someone of that name but without a hyphen, who hasn't been online since March 2007??
Life is brief and very fragile, do that which makes you happy.

Thats a technical glitch, some problem with recognising hyphens and full stops apparently.

Looks like I may need to offer an apology for my suggestion, I too haven't heard anything.

                              Sorry folks.

To be honest I find that I only get a thanks reply from about 50% of people I send anything to, I think it's quite rude as I'm always mortified if I don't get chance to log on for a few days as I feel I'm being tardy
