Ground frozen overnight down here too - but quite a bright sunny day so far, if a little on the cold side.

Have only been composting in anger for about a year but my single dalek is about half full I noticed with some beautiful dark compost aching to be used this year at the bottom.

Can't wait to get going this year after that long spell of wintry weather. I guess its still quite bad in more northern parts?

It feels like spring here at midday. Ground frozen on the surface. Greenhouse is nearly 25C! A good day to acclimatise the plants in the greenhouse to the outside world.

Beautiful here today, have just spent the morning re-arranging part of the garden & marking up the foundation for greenhouse. Just waiting for breeze blocks then I can get started.

Fantastic here today, only wore one fleece in garden!
I did some weeding and general maintenance - pleased to say garlic is looking really good and my cabbages have grown too!!
I gave my onions (which were looking a bit weedy) some potash and gave everything else (that is growing) some nettle tea...
Hope the sunshine stays...roll on spring

Spent most of the day on the plot today, waiting for a muck delivery. The ground was frozen solid, so I had a bonfire and got rid of loads of chopped down brambles. Found out mid afternoon that the muck wasn't coming after all, it's coming tomorrow instead... Grrr! So I'm going to have to spend the evening doing the laundry that I was going to do tomorrow!
It was a very lovely sunny day though

Here in south Cumbria it's been a beautiful, clear, sunny, but very cold day. I spent it cleaning and tidying the shed, burning rubbish, brewing tea and chatting to fellow plotholders. The ground is frozen solid, but now everything is ready to go!
Not tomorrow though. The Lake District hills still have snow on them, and the forecast is for another day like today, so I'm going fellwalking!
