    Sorry - late posting. I'm really sorry. It sounds as though the girls and your daughter are able to give each other some support. Like you say, understandable but so sad that they have a sense of relief.

        It is an unnatural thing for parents(or parents in law) to outlive their children, it's wrong! Sorry to hear of your pain and loss.

          Hi Tony - I just caught up with this thread - I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Perhaps some good can come of this terrible tragedy if it makes even one person examine their attitude to drink. I know from first hand how drink affects not just the person doing the drinking, but their whole family around them. Sadly, it's not an uncommon problem. Thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

              Tony, sorry to hear of your families loss and pain. Alcolohism is a dreadfully helpless, uncontrollable and painful situation for all involved. I hope now you can all find comfort with each other and begin the long path to healing, forgiving and happiness that you all deserve to have in your lifes.
