Doing it in public!!!

Good afternoon all, one of my friends has just rang me to see if I'd like to be exfoliated at collage tonight , she said she'd through in a free wax as well , apparently her usual victim...sorry model is full of flu so can't make it and would I mind standing in??. I've done this at home in the privacy of my own bathroom, but laid out in public doesn't ring my bell so to speak. She's a really good friend and I don't want to disappoint her. What do you lot think, am I being daft??

I guess it would depend which bits and how many and how much cover offered!

Personally I would not be first on the volunteer list for this - but I can understand the need.

If this is being done at college and presumably its a class of students - rather like nursing - I thought they picked their 'subject/victim' from the class so they could experience at first hand the likely embarassment and sensation/pain of any treatment provided?

If you're uncomfortable - just say no and hope she understands - if she's a good friend and therapist - she will - if not........?

Wouldnt mind the exfoliation, think that would be ok, amd my face could do with it! But not sure about the wax! Would depend which bit you are getting waxed really!
Mind you in my time Ive a few different bits waxed and I think I still pull the same expression each time! Not sure I would want a room full of people seeing my waxing expressions!
Could she not offr you something like an indian head massgae or something instead, somehing relaxing as opposed to grimacing! Maybe its me and my low pain threshhold!
Also would depend how big the class is etc, if it was a small intimate group might be ok? But rows of people.......not so sure?

She usually pair's up and practices on other students, but they've been asked if they could fetch a member of there family or a friend as its nearing the end of there course. I asked about the waxing, its the full leg, under arm and bikini line...I've already told her NO WAY is she doing the "BRASILIAN" on me

I'd go for it... I can never afford to get waxed, so would jump at the chance of a free one!!

And I know that I might be fat and pasty-pale, but I won't be the worst thing they'll see in their careers!!!

Go for it!

Those treatments cost a fortune in a salon (nearly wrote saloon!) - just remember that the students are deffo not looking at you they are concentrating on what they are doing.

Bit like the dentist isn't seeing you with your hair scraped back with eye goggles on with your gob open and you dribbling out the corner of your mouth, he's looking at your teeth.

Also a bit like going for a smear, the well woman nurse isn't seeing you with your ..... well, you get the picture.

Bet you feel a million dollars afterwards!

I'd go for it my daughter is at college doing a similar course just put it down to helping someone with their education wouldnt fancy the waxing though cant stand pain

Doesn't hurt - just smarts a bit - like whipping a plaster off dead quickly.

You'll be in a little cubicle with curtains round it, like in hospital. I used to get cheap aromatherapy massages at college, for about £3, it were lovely

I agree with Hazel, the other students won't be too bothered, they'll be busy doing their own thing.

Go for it, saves about £40 or thereabouts, you get free treatments, and you're doing your friend a favour.

Right...I've made up my mind...I'm going for it, I've to be there for 6.30, so that gives me time to jump in the shower and have a good old scrub, just to make sure I'm nice and clean, I was in the shower this morning but I'd feel better after having another.

I'm the opposite! Waxing = Pain. I don't DO pain! Also, I'd run a mile at the thought of getting any part of me out in public - it'd make 'em all sick I'm sure.

But, obviously you're much braver then me, aren't you?
