  • New Monty Don TV Programme

Monty Don is in another new six part TV series, starting tomorrow night (Friday 5th Feb) on BBC2, called Mastercrafts. He will be looking at old traditional crafts such as thatching, weaving etc. Looks good.

He could be presenting a show on watching paint dry and could make it worth watching!! However love things like that, so double whammy, thanks will be tuning in.

Monty's 'My Dream Farm' programme is on right now. He has taken the couple he is working with to visit 'The White Post Farm Park'

I live about 5 or 6 minutes away from there.

Why do the tv people do this? Two programmes I want to watch on at the same time My Dream Farm on C4 and Simon King's new series on BBC 2 called Shetland Diaries from - guess where? - Shetland Thank goodness we can record things nowadays.
I watched the Simon King one - brilliant.

Hi, sorry peeps, I think this programme starts on Friday 12th February, 9pm to 10pm, BBC2, not tomorrow night as I first thought.

I can mix and use lime mortar/plaster (not to get a particularly smooth finish, but I can do it!). I can do other old-time building skils to DIY standards too (but not thatch, and some tasks require more muscle than I have)

Have to say, I watched Dream Farm for first time and even though I love Monty to bits I did not like this program. On last nights they had a small market at the farm, how many villagers would have pitched up if Monty had not been there????? not a very realistic situation.

I shall make a point of seeing this. I love crafts. I spin, weave, quilt (and much, much more!) but I couldn't thatch a house!
