mum had one tail end of ast year lasted 8 weeks, cleared up the week after they sent her for an x-ray, like yours she would have a cople of days no cough then it would be back, Hb has been off for a week and now she's pasted the cough to me, two hours sleep last night!
Looked on internet last night and one suggested remedy was glass hot water with 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper and a shake of salt, gargle with it at intervals till cough fades wasn't so sure about this one and have no cayenne so haven't tried it. Maybe someone on here has?

My father in law still has a cough from, it must be 15 years ago, when he caught a chill when doing a sponsered walk.

Forget cough mixtures. Just suck on half a teaspoon of honey and then have a swig of brandy. Works every time

I'd go back to your doctor and bang your finger on his desk a bit. Yeah, I'm sure it will clear up on it's own, but it would be worth insisting on a few tests. You may have a mild form of asthma, which would cause an iritating cough, but could be helped by the use of an inhaler. Or you could have developed polyps. - Harmless (usually) little fleshy danglers which again would cause a cough and would need removal.

With a lot of coughs there really isn't a lot that the docs can do. I tend to suffer with one for about 3 months every time I get a cold and it's very annoying. Fortunatley I only get colds every few years so it could be a lot worse. Over the counter stuff doesn't work for me although I do find that some really cheap lozengers from Morrisons are fab. Steam is also good so lots of hot drinks and steam sessions. Have had scans and tests and it's just something I'm susceptable to and if you look on t'internet, most coughs do last at least a couple of months, it's just if they are milder then you don't notice as much.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I don't know whether it is the same cough or relatives of the intital one but i have had a cough now for four months, new bugs at my new school, plus the fact the children cough straight into your face when talking to you, nice!!
