I was musing while walking home from the bus stop, having eaten some floral drops on said bus. Do the sweets we choose tell people as much about us as say our avatars? What fond childhood memories do we have of these things?
We have one of those sweet shops near us that stocks stuff in jars as well as pick and mix and some of the more interesting penny lines. Although they generally cost more than that these days. I am slowly working my way through the stock (I don't do diets ).
They generally have a good selection of "old-fashioned" sweets and so I am currently sampling Ginger Creams (like m&s mint crumbles but wonderfully gingery and much creamier), winter warmers (lots of lovely clove and cinnamon flavours), a wonderful smooth, chewy licorice toffee and the above-mentioned floral gums. This lot will last me a fortnight or so.
I may have to sample the Cola Cubes as I've not had those in years and the Pineapple Chunks.
So what would be your choice? What is your fondest memory of (sweet wise)? Do you think this says anything about you other than you have a sweet tooth and don't care about the calories?
