My other fave from summers spent in France is Carambar. The original caramel chew not the fruity ones. I found it in a shop at home while there over Christmas and brought some back for Miss E to try.

Green Ghirl. did you ever have sugarolly water - lichuorice (? spelling, don't know how to spell it in English, or any other language. The H in your name might give you the same origins as me ?) But, liquorice shaken up in water. We thought it delicious if we could get some. Called it sugarolly water - shugarolly ? (dear knows how you spell that!).
Anyway, you're a near neighbour there in Lanarkshire . Enjoy the vine.

'Refreshers' and 'mojo's' used to do it for me (and my teeth! )

The refreshers were like putting a fruity toffee brick in your mouth and made you unintelligible when you tried to talk!

I've just recently found a substitute for mojo's or blackjacks (can't remember which but I can remember the taste!) and its called blackmint chewing gum. I have been known to buy it by the box full at Makro's!

This thread has made me crave sweets!!!

I loved floral gums and cherry lips, haven't had any for years though. Also used to like blackcurrant and liquorice, pontefract cakes and little pink and white things which I think were called sherbet drops. OH and I remember Spangles used to splinter and get stuck in your tongue! Also loved Galaxy Counters - way better than choccie buttons!!! Bring back all the oldies!
