Just be aware, though, that insurance relates to public highways or your own property. It doesn't cover accidents in private car parks, so it would be a private prosecution if you went that route unless it doesn't include public liability, in which case ignore me!).

I don't think we're planning to sue. Maybe if it had been Tesco's fault or if I'd been very badly injured...but I think the elderly driver has possibly been through enough. A friend said earlier that she thought the police would have visited the driver as they have visited me this afternoon just to sort out their incident log. I don't know if they can do anything to revoke her license?

I've sat and cut out 45 cat-shaped business cards for OH to leave at a Valentine's event where they are using our chocolates and I'm feeling a bit stiff now - still, it'll soon be time for pethidine. I remember that from labour and I quite liked it.........

LOLOL Everyone should learn a foreign language!

I've just got a few more cards to cut out, then I'm going for a bath. My sister-in-law is a ward sister with 30 years of orthopaedics under her belt (that's why nurses' belts are elastic) and she says a nice bath will help with the stiffness & bruising. I have to have help getting in & out though so I shall feel silly, but better safe than sorry.

Jesus Bellido Flamenco woman - how fast was she going?!

Hope you're feeling better soon and that the damage isn't too long lasting. Hope the old dear is ok too, but I do share the opinion that some older folk just aren't capable of driving in todays environment. Just the other day I had to brake as an elderly gentlman was haring up the car park in the wrong direction (sensible one-way system). His wife looked terrified in passenger seat, and then he wondered why it was so tricky to get into the parking space that was facing the other direction (you know when the places are marked out at a slant.).

Tescos is just dangerous - last year sometime I was retrning a trolley and belted my head quite hard on the canopy they have over the trolley "parks". Made the red mist come an everything.

              Anyhoo speedy (yet safe) recovery!

Oh, no - I just caught up with your thread here Jules and I'm sending you healing wishes over the ether! I hope you recover soon. Take as much rest as you can, and don't push yourself over the next few weeks.

I feel sorry for the old lady as well - I don't know what I would do if I were no longer able to drive. My mum gave up her car a year or so ago and I know it has shut her off from so much that she enjoyed.

And I hope Tescos at least send you something yummy to help your recuperation!

Thanks chaps & chapesses, for your lovely wishes.

I do feel very stiff and sore today, mostly from being confined to a chair whilst spending four hours on the blinkin' phone (see AOL thread), but also because the bruises are coming through now and defying any painkiller. I've discovered today that if I hadn't rebounded off a bollard, I wouldn't have got the fracture, just a nasty bump.

The lady who bumped me sent me flowers today. Huge bunch of yellow themed flowers in a lovely glass vase. I've arranged to go over and see her next week for a cuppa - she offered to come here but that meant driving. This has frightened her silly by the sounds of things and she does sound like nice lady.

I liked free gifts better when they were harmless things such as recipe cards. Although I did once get a really stingy papercut from one of those.

their slogan always used to be have a break have a Kit Kat
it just seems the bar was made for these situations

Take care you never know you might be back on your roller skates before Spring
