I am re-learning to knit and have invested in a sewing machine The knitting is just to relax mainly but the sewing is so that I can make cushions and curtains etc for my house as I can't afford to buy them. Fingers crossed I get on okay!
I'm finally making the time to do some painting (I've never finished a painting before, I always get bored before it's finished (pic 1 is where I'd usually stop) or else I think it's no good & chuck it away)

My Mum made shawls to a pattern a bit like that, but with an extra 'centre' that was a bit plainer, and they were sewn into the circle and given as baby shawls, one for each of her 10 grandchildren.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
Spent a very happy day with my friends today making Dolores dragon out of Fimo. When my friend suggested that we have a lesson from her mum, I imagined a very clunky green effort but I think this one has a personality

Here we are - the dark one is for us, the light one for a wedding present (wedding tomorrow, still got to attach label!)
The basic quilt block is the same but for the pale one I alternated dark and light. For the dark one I used just 2 pale rectangles in each block, at alternate corners. By rotating them I got a sort of 4 point star effect.
