      • I am re-learning to knit and have invested in a sewing machine The knitting is just to relax mainly but the sewing is so that I can make cushions and curtains etc for my house as I can't afford to buy them. Fingers crossed I get on okay!

        I also screen print.

@flummery Your quilt looks gorgeous! Inspiring @Creemteez Lovely cakes! @Two_Sheds Wonderful items!

        • I'm finally making the time to do some painting (I've never finished a painting before, I always get bored before it's finished (pic 1 is where I'd usually stop) or else I think it's no good & chuck it away)

he's a project from this book. I'll try painting from my own photos next

              • The best my painting gets is when I do the skirting boards without getting it on the wall I just finished! Well done lady!

                • My Mum made shawls to a pattern a bit like that, but with an extra 'centre' that was a bit plainer, and they were sewn into the circle and given as baby shawls, one for each of her 10 grandchildren.

                  • Spent a very happy day with my friends today making Dolores dragon out of Fimo. When my friend suggested that we have a lesson from her mum, I imagined a very clunky green effort but I think this one has a personality

                          • Just finished 2 small lap quilts - about 50" square. Must take a pic tomorrow and upload. The light's getting a bit low now.

                              • Here we are - the dark one is for us, the light one for a wedding present (wedding tomorrow, still got to attach label!)

The basic quilt block is the same but for the pale one I alternated dark and light. For the dark one I used just 2 pale rectangles in each block, at alternate corners. By rotating them I got a sort of 4 point star effect.
