Water cannot be organic

They can be recycled in our area - the Tetra type carton that is. I guess they weigh less, so use less fuel to transport. They are square/rectangular, so I presume they can be packed/stacked more easily and efficiently than round tins.

Not sure what's involved in the manufacturing process, but then I don't work in packaging.

I've just had a think about this...
1) They'd stack more easily/securely
2) They'd be shorter so you could carry more of them on a lorry
3) They'd take up less space in your cupboards
4) They wouldn't roll away when you dropped them

I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think we've basically cured world hunger! Not being too big headed, but where's my nobel prize?

...and sardines, so we know it's possible. Although they aren't the easiest tins to open. I wonder if a standard tin opener could navigate the corners?
I'm sure you could fashion an easy-open ringpull into the lids.

Tetra paks are a nightmare enviromentally, as are most things that are built up of more than one material. Although they have a recycling stream, it's not a very efficient one as they have to be split up again which takes a lot of energy, rather a shame but that won't be mentioned in advertising as people like to feel that they've done their bit by putting things in a relevantly coloured bin. Take your point re the weight issue although would be interested to know what level of additional packaging goes round the cartons / tins when travelling also.

I reckon spring water IS organic! My Gran used to live on a farm with it's water fed by a spring, she used to call it Adams Ale............and it was!!!!!
