I've got little time or respect for her as have most of the other staff. The juniors feel unsupported and no one feels valued.Bright Blessings

Best of luck for Wednesday Earthbabe Iv'e met bosses like that and hate them. Thank goodness I am my own boss now so all my complaints fall on deaf ears. Not much good moaning then is it?Gardening requires a lot of water - most of it in the form of perspiration. Lou Erickson, critic and poet

Reading that post made me feel very lucky for having the senior and junior sisters/nurses that we have where I work. They're great and lead by example.

Our junior sister is great but is usually left picking up the pieces and doing all the really good person management. Our "junior" staff are great but all the supporting etc is done by the Es (myself included on the 2days a week I'm there) and the F. There is no training budget or so it seems. No-one has had an IPR in I don't know how long and I've never seen my KSF, although I should have had it middle of last year.
Never mind not for much longer. If I am not successful this time I know that something will come up. In the meantime Mr E and I will plug away at our fledgling therapy business and look to get our teaching quals so we too can cut loose and go self-employed.Bright Blessings

I'll have to try again.
Thank you all for your positive thoughts and encouragement. The interview went reasonably well. I fell down on some of the NHS bureaucratic stuff. So unfortunately I didn't get the job. I shall keep trying as things come up. The Lead Nurse still has my details on file should any suitable vacancies arise and I was told that on another day I would have been successful and to keep trying.
After the last two days at work I've got to find something else because I really can't continue as I am workwise.
Fingers crossed.Bright Blessings

Commiserations EB, isn't it chronic when they say 'you would have got it another day'. Similar thing happened to me when I went for civil service promotion - they raised the pass mark that time. I would have got it the year before!!! GRRRR.
Anyway, best of luck and just remember, the reason you didn't get it was because something better is on it's way.
UG I really hope you have a good time tomorrow and starting back is not too hard. How is your son?? All the bestLast edited by madderbat; 16-02-2007, 10:02 PM.

If you really wanted it, sorry you didn't get get it EB. There is something different and better out there for you. I haven't read all of this post in detail, but gather you have some critical things to say about colleagues. All I can say as an ex nurse is, I feel embarrased and ashamed at the present state of affairs. My husband was admitted to hospital last year, and all I can say is , nursing care did not exist, not even at the most basic levels. No one got washed , toileted, fluids offered, diets supervised, or even checked on to see if they were breathing ! My husband had a named nurse who was responsible for his care, but we never met this person, and nobody else knew, or did, anything as it was all down to his named Nurse ! Shocking !!!!
There was no evidence of care or compassion at any level. I could only look at it and think whatever profession these people think they are trained in and work in is certainly not the profession I belonged to. Glad to be out of there. I wouldn't lend my name or be associated with that (yes it was as bad as that). I'm sure there are individuals out there giving their honest best (didn't meet any of them) and to them I apologise, but the system as a whole - please don't find yourself on the receiving end of it.
