MTF Lots of love and prayers heading your way. I would second what the others have said, definitely take another person or at the very least a notebook to write things down.
Will be thinking of you on Monday,MTF. I think all the advice from lizzylemon has to be spot on, she knows exactly how you are feeling and what worked for her. Along with everyone else lots of positive thoughts coming your way.xx
We'll be thinking of you on Monday, and sending you lots of love and positive vibes. A friend is going through the same thing at the moment, has just finished her first bout of radio therapy (she still feels well!) and has said most of the things mentioned by the others - stay positive xx
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!
I had a different type of cancer but for me these things helped:
All the information got put into a notebook so I could read it back to it whenever I needed to.
I questioned everything
Snap. I had a "head and neck" cancer too, but it was in my mouth & neck, not my skull (14 years ago). I had surgery, radio, chemo, the works.
It is very difficult to remember what doctors are saying to you, so yes, write it all down. Don't rely on other people to remember, they'll be in shock too.
If something doesn't work: try something else.
Use the internet to find information: some of it is junk, but a lot is useful.
Never be afraid to ask questions. Again and again, if necessary.

I'm hoping and praying for a good result for you. Listen to the good advice of those above who've gone though it and come out the other side. They can say so much more than the rest of us.
MTF, will be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping it all goes well. There are lots of positive thoughts heading your way from everyone on here. Best wishes Sanjo
Just a quick thank you to all who've posted in this thread. It's great to feel there are people so supportive - in particular it's good to hear of some who've been in similar situations and also those who've sent prayers/good thoughts.
Thanks again to all, will keep the thread posted when I know more - though I probably won't be able to use the Internet at least for some days; I'm at home today for a few hours, back to hospital tonight.
It's good to be part of this forum, I find it difficult to express just how much appreciation I feel.
I wanted to send a big virtual bunch of flowers but I haven't a clue how to do it!
My hopes are not always realized but I always hope (Ovid)
All the advice posted by the other grapes and a big squeezy-hug. Deep breaths tomorrow (In with the good - out with the bad), and try to keep thinking positively. I'm increasingly sure it has a bearing on much more than we know.

Bit late replying to this thread - although I have to confess that I read it last night and 'wrote' a reply to you several times in my head, but nothing seemed quite right! But I send you huge amounts of good luck and positive thoughts for tomorrow, and whatever may follow.
I haven't gone through anything like this personally, although have much experience of cancer through family experiences - too much really! Much good advice has already been posted, so I shall leave this now, but once again good luck, keep strong, and I shall be thinking of you tomorrow.
