If you grow the toms etc. in pots, you should be able to take them with you Piskie, just don't grow too many We also brought back live fish from Holland, in July, and they survived so no reason why your plants shouldn't.
That's what I said......Just grow a few well, in big pots and make sure they are very well staked!!!
8 moves in 16 years - blimey! I agree about the clean out, but don't you ever feel settled, or doesn't it bother you? My Sister has become nomadic since moving to Spain. I think it would drive me potty!

... but don't you ever feel settled, or doesn't it bother you?
I have to get (my head) settled upon entering the MQ the first time I enter otherwise it would be hell.
As to it bothering me, let's just say I won't be too sorry when Snowdrop hangs up his asp and whistle for the last time and we wonder off into the sunset to settle in a rose-filled cottage somewhere quiet - with no helicopters, planes, frost-pockets or wind-tunnels
Me? Nope. Can't even sort myself out to be honest! I guess being moved around must have it's good points. My Mum was an Army daughter, and travelled around the country quite a lot, before settling near where her Mum's parents lived.
I have only ever lived in north Essex - except I'm finally getting wanderlust, at my age lol!
Put all the towns/villages/cities that you have thought of on scraps of paper in a hat and pull each out and together you either put in a 'Yes' - 'Nah' or 'Possible' pile.
Then just look at the yesses.
I can tell you're gonna have to make a list here.....
Wow Pisk you'll be spitting distance from us too how brill..

I'll definitely contact you next time I'm up, otherwise you'll have moved and I will have missed an opportunity to meet a grape! I'll bring the twins (6 weeks old now) - DD will be pleased to let me take them for a walk - her OH is off somewhere warmer at the weekend for 4 months! The fun you folks have!!
Life is too short for drama & petty things!
So laugh insanely, love truly and forgive quickly!
Looks like with a few grapes living near where you will end up you could ask them very nicely to sow some seeds in pots for you and then you will only have to move the plants a short distance.
Gardening ..... begins with daybreak
and ends with backache
whoop whoop another Grape to grapple with - yaaaaay
Today I have to organise the Pre-March out, oh deep joy! This is where they come in and tell us what we have to fix/replace/put back - I'm looking forward to seeing her/his face when they see my garden hehehe
