  • red kitchen walls

I hope I don't regret this - my favourite colour is red, have red wellies, coat, shed etc

Our kitchen ceiling fell through due to a a leaking waste pipe in the bathroom. The guys doing the work asked me to pick a colour this morning and I picked poppy red my husband isn't against the colour as he followed my suggestion with purple but he's away so I made the choice plus he only makes tea couldn't boil an egg so I think it's only right I pick the clour of the walls

Our units are the colour birch with dark worktops. I wanted a bit of colour. I know they say use light colours to keep a room light but sometimes it looks boring.

Could never have red, dodgy footballing conatations that neither me nor OH could cope with.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

You can always calm it down (if you do think it's a bit much) with a few cream things and piccies dotted around!!
I think poppy red sounds nice and lively!!

If you like it, run with it.
My kitchen walls are now in a colour that I love too, dont regret it at all.
As for whether it goes with any other colour or my units or anything I have no idea nor do I care. I like it, so its great.

Red, for a kitchen, sounds excellent to me

I mostly have to put up with magnola walls throughout, I could paint it but I would have to put it back to magnola on march out - and I can't be arsed with all that - so many bits of my kitchen are poppy red, kettle, some glasses, some cooking pots, vases etc etc

i love red also, but only as clothes or a household accessory, deffinatly not walls,as with any dark colours the visual room size shrinks, that is only my opinion, good luck with whatever you choose as you got to live with it,not anyone else.

We have red kitchen walls - on the wall opposite the window. The window wall is a strong clotted cream colour. I like it - it makes the room warm and cosy

Colours, like gardening styles, are all subjective - if you like it, get it slapped on gal

Nowt wrong with red kitchen walls - LadyWayne panicked when I chose the colour at the time, and would only concede to allowing the end walls to be painted the colour, but she half wishes we'd done them all now.

I'm happy now, your kitchen is similar to ours, I have an AEG SS cooker,SS built in microwave and SS kettle toastar and steamer so you photo has put my mind at rest.

I have just got back into to sewing and I think it's made me become more aware of colour and how it affects our mood and I have always found red to be a positive and warm colour. Part of my new sewing machine is purple oh and how can i forget my purple chicken coup

I studied art and design for two years - yet LadyWayne still doesn't trust me with colours and such. We can oft be found in B&Q having a 'chat' on the subject.

Think my OH also studied the above in a past life - just phoned and told him and his reply "maybe we could decorate the lounge and dining room and buy some good quality paper with a red theme and paper the chimney wall between the two rooms with clotted cream for the rest then the kitchen would seem logical"

He's never watched any decorating type shows in his life
