How sad for you Matthew. My mum and dad's dog went the same way. She was looking off colour and they were putting their coats on in the hall and about to take her to the vet for a check over when she keeled over - they reckoned a stroke. It's a shock, even when they are getting to a ripe old age.

Hard for your other dog too. They miss each other.

I just caught up with this thread, I am so sorry to hear your dog died. It is a very sad time. Your other dog must be upset too. He will eventually settle down, but will likely always miss his friend, as will you. My thoughts are with you . Big hugs from me and my JR.

Sorry Matthew, its such a shock even when your'e half expecting it. Loads of sympathy from our household.
And we lost our border collie to a stroke too. Several years back now, but still fondly remembered. Daft old thing she was. Our other collie mourned visibly for several weeks, and was very clingy, then quietly picked up.
