    Just a quick one.

I'm thinking of digging out the runner bean bed to replace/freshen up the soil in it. I'd like to know how long it would take to rot down and whether the beans would take to it if i put the missus in the bottom. of course if this idea would be detrimental to the beans health, she will have to go down the tip instead.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it.

My Uncle used to always put a dead sheep that had died in the winter storms in the bottom of his leek trench!

I seem to remember he grew canny leeks anall!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

    Diversify & prosper

I've been looking for something to improve my leeks (very tasty but not that big) - however a dead sheep is probably not hugely practical. On balance though - it's better than a dead spouse - I'd just use BFB ..... someone else has done all the messy stuff!

Come on now! Kiss and make up! Horse manure is much better for your bean trench anyway.

just to put all your minds at ease, ive been bailed until my trial in the summer.(joke)
All is fine and fair weather is now blown in over the plot and things are back to normal (if you can call it that) I took it out on the compost heap in the end and after 2 hours of moving about a ton of slowly rotting weeds, roots, leaves and stalks I realised that as usual I was wrong and she was right and eastenders is more important than football!!!!!

                              Harry...
Isn't that what pubs and big screens are for?

I don't get why anyone would want to watch the brain rot that passes for entertainment on the soaps, and I'm not exactly religious about football - but if it came down to it, I wouldn't need any more of an excuse to head out to a local boozer for a pint of real ale and the match.
