hedgetrimmer won t recoil

the petrol hedge trimmer needs a pull start .. now the recoil has failed and i m not sure what to do ... needless to say i can t find receipt!

Guard

can you take the guard off and wind the pull rope back on by hand? Can be fiddly and time consuming if it takes several pulls to start it.

Failing that, a local garage/mower centre may be able to fix it for a few pounds.

When you remove the guard to rewind the starter rope, check to see that the coiled recoil ( ) spring is still in place - they do occassionally jump out of their retaining clips.
