at this time of year i get excited about seeds, obsessed even, then once they r sown i start to panic, what if they don't grow, what if i've lost the knack....... i cannot for the life of me keep indoor plants but yet in the last 2 years i seem to have managed to very successfully grow vegetables, even the p*****PS came up good last year!!! is it just a fluke or do i have green fingers for edibles??? The only thing last year that didn't grow well was basil which the previous year done very well...... really is a game of hit and miss isn't it.

The only thing that bothers me is, what if I can't fit them all in. Never enough space when you're a gardener.
And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

i've sown some toms, chilli's aubergines and peppers this afternoon, first sowings this year! kids spotted them on the shelf above the radiator and have decided that tomorrow we r sowing sunflowers and the peas.......... seems my addiction has rubbed off! lol
having gone through the seed box i only have to buy basil this year, and have sorted the box into order for what gets sown when. Really quite excited to get going now.

hi all
not posted for ages, and i have spent most of the morning catching up.
it has been really cold here and i have been holding off planting anything, but i could not resist chucking some tomatoes and jalapenos into some started pots and see how we get on. they are in a propagator on my sunniest windowsill at the moment.
i have ordered a new cover for my walk in (last one blew away before the snow came). i have found my seed tin from last year and all are still in date, so hopefully the nice weather will hold and i can get some of the garden tidied up and some seeds planted.www.tuscana.net 2 junctions from disney, fully equipped apartment. unit 1307 if anyone wants to book their accomodation

binley.... i also have a cacti, but think i've killed that 2!!!! its got very tall and the middle is a bit spongy, although it has healed itself once in the past, the stem splits in 2 about a 3rd of the way up and the smaller split, split away from the longer split, not totally though so i put a cane in to hold the smaller in place, abra cadabra the split healed and its once again one whole plant.

While we were back in the Uk we picked up our Xmas presents from family - yes, I know, it was February but hey ho .......
My sister in law had bought me a new gardening mug and a seed box. It's very nice and has room for almost 8 packets of seeds I think. It was a really kind thought and I appreciated it very much.
I didn't have the heart to tell her about the two 45 litre IKEA boxes that I keep my seeds in at home, they're the biggest that Ikea do for home storage I think - obsessive, moi?????????????????????? about seeds !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!TonyF, Dordogne 24220
