Mine used to be £350.00 and I live in a ground floor 2 bed flat - just me and hubby. Shocking I think seeing as I used to pay the same as the woman upstairs who had three kids ( no idea where she used to put them all!!) and used to wash her car every five minutes.

I got a meter put in and now it is less than a tenner a month... happy now.

We are on a meter and pay about 650 a year. But then with 2 children and 2 adults all having baths everyday and using the washing machine at least once a day and the dishwasher... we do use a lot of water.
We are band e, but hopefully the neighbours won't dob us in and get it put up now we've extended!

We are in band C for council tax so not a mansion after all. Waiting to see what the council tax will be this year.

Like Jackie, We're in Devon with South West Water and our new annual charge is £948!!!! Our rateable value is £190 and we're in council tax band C (so not a mansion)

Have just looked into getting a water meter fitted as it's gone up over £10 a month this year and when we lived in a similar house in Bracknell it was only £400 a year with southern water.

Shame we can't shop around as we can for other utilities
