I understand that a single garage adds about £10,000 to the value of a house. I'd imagine a double one even more!
The first thing peeps do when choosing a new home is what they can do to alter it, and make it 'theirs' .
A double garage is a wonderful opportunity for someone to do that!
Peeps often want a workshop/store room for home business/hobbies.,somewhere to convert into a sauna, shed for gardening equipment etc.
A brick building is much easier to make burglar-proof than a shed!

Yup- I'd go along with adding windows- and perhaps a door at the rear?- and use that fantastic wall.
How about installing a sink in there too to make it a 'dirty room' ( you know what I mean!)

    Keep it!

We moved here 5 years ago & have put the car in the garage twice.........because there isn't enough room for it, I don't know what I would do without it.

Braders, I can only say that I wish we had a double garage - we have 3 cars and 2 motorbikes between the 2 of us. We are lucky having enough driveway space to keep them all. It would really depend on the condition of your current garage as to whether, if I was in your situation, whether I kept it or not. Why not contact a local estate agent to see if it would affect the value of your property first?
