children and treat-giving

I have been known to send OH off to whichever place he is working with a 'food parcel', the men he works with always dig in and nothing ever comes home!
I have also sent tins of sweets or biscuits etc up to the school for the staff. It gets them out of my house and away from my hips lol

We also suffered from 'grandparent wars' where treating the kids was the be all and end all of existence!

Our 'cure' is/was somewhat unusual and I would think difficult to repeat unless unlucky. Our youngest once she finally started manageable speech said yuck!

The kids now get money, books gardening kit or clothes. Sweets have gone back to their proper place as a high days and holidays treat.
