Should he stay or should he go now?

What a terrible game, I'd have rather we got beat (and that is tough to say as a Scot!)but played well and at least looked like we might have got a try instead of penalties and drop goals.

Give him time I say, we have a good crop of youngsters coming through and he is now starting to use them. We just need to sort out the back line.

Its time for Johhny to go though I think he has lost it as a playmaker, he sits far too deep and needs to be flat to break the gain line or split the defence.

I don't think Wilko is the issue, I think it's his support. While he was on the field he got 100% of England's points and never missed a kick.
If the game demands that the points are made from kicking rather than tries, you want to have an extremely good goal kicker on the team.
Flood was good, but is he better than Wilko? If not, then in my opinion Wilko should definately stay.

EDIT: I thought "jonno" was "Johnny Wilkinson", rather than "Martin Johnson" on whom I don't really have much of an opinion.

        We need the legends back:
Will Carling, Jason Robinson, Rory Underwood, Mike Catt, Ben Cohen...etc

I'm not generally one for the "sack the manager" chant as soon as a couple of games go the wrong way, but I havent really seen any consistent improvement in the team since he took over.
I would accept that its hard currently to see a "world class" player that wears an England shirt, and would readily accept that there are some real classy youngsters coming up.
I equally agree that Johnny has had his day. Yes he still has a decent boot, but the incisive, destructive back that used to wear that shirt has vacated it.
          But,
my main gripe is that when Robinson was in charge, he complained bitterly of not having total control, not having players available when he wanted and many other moans, most of them merited.
Jonno insisted on all of the above being made available, or he wouldnt take the job. He was given all that he wanted, and in all honesty, he has failed to impress. There was a blip against France when England played very well, but it appears to have been a false dawn.
This is in no way derogatory against the Scots who played equally as poorly as England yesterday, but when you consider that since its inception, the six nations wooden spoon "winner" has either been Scotland or Italy, England really should beat them. Yes they were at Murrayfield, and Andy Robinson has started to get something going for them, but England, quite simply, should beat Scotland, and Italy. And they struggled.

Didn't watch the game as I knew Scotland was going to get the wooden spoon. Hubby and I were guessing just how badly Scotland would be beaten. I'm shocked it was a draw.

have just about calmed down after an afternoon of shouting at the telly! couldn't believe it when the ref basically chickened out of giving a yellow card in the second half and gave his third "if it happens again it'll be a card" speech. Ridiculous!

I think Jonno should stay, if only so that we can watch when he eventually erupts and rips some BBC interviewer's head off in a post match interview

As for Wilko, that's a whole different issue ...

Got to agree with Bob . England should have had an easy win against Scotland . I've not seen the match yet so can't comment on it .
Martin Johnston - great player - but I'm sorry he isn't a coach and for Englands sake he needs to vacate the post for someone who can see how to focus and direct the team .
Jonny Wilkinson - great kicker - but as others have said the play maker in him seems to have got up and left. While a kicker that can kick is essential I'm afraid you have to bring a little more to the pitch than the ability to slot a ball through the posts.
The Irish are hoping that England will put one over on the French to give us another chance to lift the Six nations - on current form it's not going to happen.
There comes a point in your life when you realize who matters, who never did, who won't anymore and who always will. Don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it in your future.

It seems the French are doing what every other team has not and thats being consistent, the irish are on fire one game and damp squibs another, the Welsh turn up for one half, the Scots have a go but semi regularly fall to Italy, The Italians have a go and occasionaly beat Scotland and England are just , well...........flat,

I thought the general idea of Rugger was to run with the ball. Rather than boot it to the opposition as soon as you get possession. It was a poor dull game in a dull season for England.

I agree maybe JW has had his day (although most of his day was spent of it away injured) but he does still tackle well. I really don't feel he was the only man on the pitch yesterday who lacked vision and it seems England expects him to kick the out of trouble each week to cover their deficiencies in passing, lineout, scrummage and mauling. You can't expect the centres to win the game by kicking....I feel it is unfair to lay all the blame at his door.

Okay so he was booed off injured (another disgrace) and we got a replacement kicker whilst his first punt found touch nicely.... he then failed to kick two penalties from 50 yards when they should have been put into touch while then kicking the one that was within range for 3 points into touch for the lineout...what?

Unless we show some metal, pick up the ball, run with it and at least attempt to score a try....we may as well forget William Webb Ellis and play soccer.
