Help I think I,m caught in some time warp because I seem to be 18 minutes behind the rest of the forum. New posts are being written in the future, how are you doing this? For example a new post has just been posted at 11:30 but its only 11:12... I know I'm not the pointiest dibber in the potting shed but the most be a reason for this. I will now go and lie down in a darkened room.

Tis Vine time!!!!!
Sometimes it's 1hr 18 mins different!!!
Don't worry -you'll get used to it...and anyway - what's 18mins between friends!!
( It's even more confusing for me cos I'm an hour ahead in France!!!!- my computer clock says it's 12.28)Last edited by Nicos; 15-03-2010, 11:43 AM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Apparently the clock was changed by one of the IT guys ( yummy Ben) before he left the Vine and no-one has managed to alter it back!
Well- that's what I understood to be the case- but I often get the wrong end of the stick - or would that be 'pointy digger'??
Tis one of the things what makes this place so spesh!!!!!"Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

As Nicos says, it's Vine time. It just means the clock on the web server the Vine runs on has been set a bit fast. There is a way to synchronise a computer's clock with a standard time server, but presumably there's a good reason they haven't done that.
For example, if you have the clock in the lower right corner of your windows PC screen you can right click on it then choose "Adjust date/time" from the menu, in the resulting pane there should be a tab that says "Internet time", there you'll probably find your PC is set to sync with "time.windows.com".
Similarly, there's a way of sync'ing on Unix and I'm sure there must be on Macs too.Last edited by HotStuff; 15-03-2010, 12:02 PM.There are 10 kinds of people in the world, those that understand binary and those that don't.

I believe the vine was fitted with a flux capacitor back in 1985. When it hit 88mph it travelled back in time some 18 minutes.
Since then it's not been possible to generate the 1.21GW needed to repeat the process, not unless we could harness the power of a lightning strike, and you never know where one of those is going to hit!
