Have had some potentially good news regarding a replacment lottie for me when I have to give up my current one to the folk who've bought the land!
The parish council have been offered a smallish piece of land by a lady of the village to use for allotments. It's 1/8 of an acre - not massive -I know.
However, I have it on good authority that the parish council are not likely to want to be involved because it's such a small bit of land and would only accommodate two reasonable sized plots.
So on a hunch I gave the lady in question a call this morning and asked to be given first refusal on the whole plot if the council turn it down.
She was very agreeable to the idea and has promised to call me as soon as she ears from the council!

I feel slightly sick with excitement. It really would be ideal for me as it is within the village, south facing, reasonably level, has been used for grazing the odd goat or pony, is fenced and gated (wide enough to back a trailer full of muck through) and has two big sheds on at one end - which I would be able to use!
There is no water supply or 'leccy, but I've never needed electricity and some guttering on the sheds should sort out the majority of the water requirements.
I'm desperately trying not to plant my chickens before they've sprouted, but I couldn't sleep last night because I was planning out where and how I would have everything! Woke up this mornig muttering "...Potatoes...Lots of potatoes..."
