  • Yes! Yes! Yy-ee-s-s-ss!!!

Oh, boyohboyohboy!!!(In the manner of Mutley)
Just had a call from the lady who owns The Field to say that the Parish Council have turned down her offer to use it and am I still interested?
Well, we all know the answer to that qustion, don't we!
    I think I might have a Tenalady moment - I'm so excited!
I'm going down there this afternoon (5-ish) to meet her and stomp about and discuss arrangements, then hopfully I can go and buy huge quantities of seed potatoes and get cracking (my back) breaking some new ground.
Gonna take piccies, so you can see what I've got and will try to post them later.
So-o-o relieved as it means I can transfer stuff gradually over the next year or so. Just hope she has no objection to my putting my greenhouse up there.
Thanks for all your support and crossed fingers!- It worked!
OMG - it's TWICE as big at least as the garden I've got now. I'm going to have SUCH fun!!!:

              How utterly fantastic!!!
              ...couldn't have been better timing!

Now then- a gentle word of warning( sorry)

Potatoes often suffer from wireworm if planted on old pasture.
I too have converted part of a field into veg beds and watched with baited breath for signs of slug or wireworm damage- only to find that the crop was perfectly fine!
I did do some research before planting spuds- nope there are no nematode treatments nor wireworm resistant spud varieties- but I did find this site which is quite helpful.

How to manage the top two potato pests, Wireworm and Slugs.

Don't worry about it- you may well be fine- just be aware

Have fun this afternoon- and fingers crossed about the green house- you never know!!

Couldn't wait to tell you all the good news and as Mr Teez is out at work, I've had a little dance round the living room with Beau. (He's very pleased too as he doesn't like it when Mummy is sad)
